Therapy Services
Sometimes you can manage the responsibilities, meet the expectations, and appear capable while quietly struggling beneath the surface.
You may be experiencing anxiety, sadness, emotional exhaustion, unresolved trauma, grief, relationship distress, or a life transition that has left you questioning what comes next. You may understand that something needs to change but feel uncertain about where to begin.
Therapy offers a confidential space to slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and develop healthier ways of responding to your emotions, relationships, and life experiences.
Journeys End Counseling provides therapy services through Tammy Austin, LMHC's clinical practice. Services are primarily offered virtually to eligible adults and couples located in Florida.

Trauma-Informed Therapy
When the Past Continues to Affect the Present
Trauma is not defined only by what happened. It can also show up in how your body, emotions, beliefs, and relationships continue to respond long after the experience ends.
You may notice:
-
Intrusive memories or emotional triggers
-
Avoidance of reminders
-
Hypervigilance or difficulty relaxing
-
Emotional numbness
-
Shame, guilt, or self-blame
-
Difficulty trusting others
-
Strong reactions that feel difficult to control
-
Recurring relationship patterns
-
Feeling disconnected from your body or emotions
-
A persistent belief that you are unsafe, unworthy, or responsible for what happened
Trauma-informed therapy helps you understand these responses without judgment. When clinically appropriate, EMDR may be incorporated to help process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional intensity connected to them.
Trauma work is paced carefully. You will not be pressured to disclose or process experiences before adequate safety, trust, and stabilization have been established.
Divorce Recovery
Divorce, separation, career changes, caregiving, motherhood, an empty nest, retirement, grief, and other transitions can disrupt your identity and sense of direction.
Even a necessary or chosen transition may bring complicated emotions.
Therapy can help you:
-
Process grief and uncertainty
-
Understand who you are outside of previous roles
-
Manage anxiety about the future
-
Rebuild confidence and self-trust
-
Establish healthier boundaries
-
Adjust to changing relationships and responsibilities
-
Release guilt, shame, or unrealistic expectations
-
Create stability during an unfamiliar season
-
Begin imagining a meaningful life beyond the transition
A difficult chapter does not have to become your entire story.
